BRICS Development Bank gets Green Light

In a first step to set up a development bank as counterweight to the US/EU-led World Bank and the IMF, the Finance Ministers of the BRICS member countries have met up this weekend on sidelines of the annual Spring Meeting of the World Bank and the IMF to discuss this important step.

Labour Law

With the South African constitution also came a set of codified laws to the South African shores that make the South African labour law one of the most advanced laws in the country. It consists mainly out of the following Acts:

Basic Conditions of Employment Act No 75 of 1997 (BCEA)
Occupational Health and Safety Act No 85 of 1993
Labour Relations Act No 66 of 1995 (LRA)
Employment Equity Act No 55 of 1998
