Election Date and Budget Speech - 11th Feb 2009
Current president of South Africa, Kgalem Mozlanthe, finally announced yesterday that the coming elections will be held on 22 April 2009. The polls, expected to be the biggest since 1994, are likely to be the first in 15 years in which all South African expatriates will be elligible to vote. The results will be awaited with great anticipation, especially regarding the new party COPE as well as ID and DA. Will this be the beginning of a real multi-party-democracy?In the meantime Finance Minister Trevor Manuel has finsihed his Budget Speech for South Africa 2009.
