Final Election Results 2009 - 26th Apr 2009
After the final count was delayed due to various boxes of uncounted votes that went awry in the Western Cape, it is the final result that the ANC could not retain its two-thirds-majority. Nevertheless the ANC became strongest force in eight provinces except for the Western Cape, where the DA under Helen Zille became the leading party with 48.83% of the votes. The final results read as follows:ANC: 65.89 %
DA: 16.66 %
COPE: 7,41 %
IFP: 4.54 %
ID: 0.92 %
UDM: 0.84 %
FF+: 0.83 %
ACDP: 0.80 %
