Application to Namibian Citizenship Starts Here

You qualify for Namibian citizenship after you’ve lived in the country for 10 years.
There are three approaches if you want to immigrate to Namibia:

Descent:

You have Namibian parents.

Marriage:

You’re married to a Namibian citizen.

Naturalisation:

You’ve worked in Namibia for 10 or more years.

Spouses and children can legally immigrate to the country. However, they can only apply for Namibian citizenship after the principal applicant’s application has been approved.

Namibia Citizenship Requirements, Forms & Documentation:

Each application is taken on merit. The requirements differ depending on your path to immigrating to Namibia.

Naturalisation

  • Forms granting power of attorney to IBN Immigration to act on your behalf.
  • Application form for citizenship in Namibia.
  • Copy of unabridged birth certificate.
  • Copy of birth certificates of parents born in Namibia.
  • Copy of ID of parents born in Namibia.
  • Namibian police clearance if you’re 18 years and older.
  • Two passport photos.
  • Police clearance from your country of origin (certificate copies not accepted).
  • Passport application forms must be completed in black ink and certified by a Commissioner of Oaths.

Marriage

  • Forms granting IBN Immigration power of attorney to act on your behalf.
  • Application form for Namibia citizenship.
  • Two passport photos.
  • Copy of passport.
  • Copy of applicant’s unabridged birth certificate.
  • Copy of birth certificate of spouse born in Namibia.
  • Namibian police clearance.
  • Copy of applicant’s ID.
  • Copy of ID of spouse born in Namibia.
  • Copy of Marriage Certificate.
  • Letter from Receiver of Revenue confirming period of residence.
  • Copy of the applicant’s valid permit or domicile identity certificate.

Descent

  • Forms granting IBN Immigration power of attorney to act on your behalf.
  • Application form.
  • Copy of applicant’s unabridged birth certificate.
  • Copy of unabridged birth certificates or citizenship certificates of parents born in Namibia.
  • Copy of ID of parents born in Namibia.
  • Copy of ID or birth certificate of non-Namibian parents.
  • Parent’s marriage or divorce certificates.
  • Namibian police clearance of the application.
  • Police clearance from your country of origin

Note: We might request additional documentation to supplement that mentioned above.

Namibia Citizenship Costs:

Service fees for citizenship applications are N$3,500.
Government fees must be paid directly to Home Affairs once the application has been approved.

How to Apply for the Namibia Citizenship:

The first step to take before you apply for Namibian citizenship is to contact IBN Immigration Solutions. One of our consultants will be in touch to review the requirements to see if you qualify for citizenship.

If it appears that you do qualify for citizenship in Namibia, your consultant will go into greater detail about the various requirements and help you procure the types of documents necessary for your application, such as police clearance certificates.

Once you have all the documents and have paid all the costs, your immigration consultant will go through the application pack with you to ensure you have everything you require. Following this, your application pack will go through an in-house quality check.

Once it passes the quality check, you must go to Home Affairs to apply for your Namibia citizenship in person. Your consultant will accompany you to see you safely through the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Different types of permits have different processing times. Citizen applications are processed in approximately 6 – 12 months from the date of submission to Home Affairs.
