  • Your ancestor was born in the UK, Channel Islands, or Isle of Man
  • Your ancestor was born in Ireland before 31 March 1922
  • Your ancestor was born on a ship or aircraft registered in the UK or belonged to the UK government

  1. You should submit United Kingdom ancestry visa applications as least three months before you travel to the UK.
