Eligibility for the Kenyan Digital Nomad Permit
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Occupation:
Must be employed in a remote role by a company registered outside of Kenya. - Income Threshold:
There is currently no official minimum salary requirement. However, applicants must demonstrate financial stability and the ability to sustain themselves (and their dependants, if applicable) during their stay. - Pay Slips / Bank Statements:
Applicants must submit financial documentation such as the most recent three months’ payslips or bank statements showing consistent income. - Criminal Record:
A Letter of No Objection from the applicant’s home country embassy is required. This serves as a form of background clearance. - Proof of Accommodation:
Applicants must provide evidence of accommodation in Kenya, such as a hotel booking, lease agreement, or rental confirmation. - Permit Validity & Duration:
Initial validity is either 1 year or 2 years, based on the applicant’s preference and documentation. The Permit is renewable following the expiration of the initial term. - Dependants:
