Applying for a Mozambique Study Visa
The Mozambique Study Visa is intended for foreign nationals who wish to undertake formal education or training at accredited institutions in Mozambique. It enables international students to legally reside in the country for the duration of their studies. The visa is restricted to study purposes and does not permit employment or professional activities.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold an official acceptance letter from a recognised Mozambican tertiary institution or accredited training provider. This visa is required for all foreign nationals enrolling in higher education programmes. Minor children of work permit or residence permit holders attending primary or secondary school are covered under the main applicant’s residence authorisation and do not need a separate study visa.
Common Use Cases
- International students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at Mozambican universities or colleges.
- Foreign nationals attending vocational or professional training programmes.
- Participants in exchange programmes or research placements with Mozambican institutions.
Duration of Stay
The Mozambique Study Visa is usually issued for one academic year, aligned with the duration of enrolment confirmed by the institution. It may be renewed annually for the full length of the study programme, provided proof of continued registration is submitted.
