Applying for a Tanzania Investor Permit (Class A) and Residence by Investment
The Tanzania Class A Permit is the primary immigration category used by foreign nationals intending to invest in, establish, or operate a business in Tanzania. It applies to activities such as trade, manufacturing, agriculture, mineral prospecting, animal husbandry, and other approved commercial ventures.
The Class A Permit functions as Tanzania’s main investor and entrepreneur immigration route. The permit allows qualifying foreign nationals to reside in Tanzania while managing or operating the approved investment or business activity.
Tanzania also facilitates investment-linked residence through authorities such as the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and, in Zanzibar, the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA). Certain qualifying investors may benefit from immigration facilitation measures, including automatic quotas for employing foreign nationals.
