Personal Profile
Tatjana Singh was born in Heidelberg in the south of Germany into a Russian-German family. She had a keen interest in different languages and cultures from an early age and now speaks five languages.
“I first came to Kenya in 2012. At the time, I did my voluntary service in Rwanda after finishing school. Since this first visit, I was fascinated with the country, its people, cultures and landscapes. It inspired me to study cultural anthropology and I learned more about the diverse ethnicities and cultures of East Africa and finally also conducted field work for my Master’s thesis in Nairobi,” she explains.
In 2021, Tatjana moved to Kenya, where she started working as a freelance writer for a German publishing house writing a travel guide on Kenya. “Through my work as a writer, I have travelled all over Kenya and have gotten to know people from various backgrounds and countries. For many, immigration issues such as their residency status or work permit are central to their lives. I have witnessed the difficulties that arise when something goes wrong with an immigration application and the worries about whether everything will work out. That's why I want to support people in this process and ease their worries through delivering reliable services with IBN.”
