Applying for a Uganda Tourist and Business Visa

Foreign nationals travelling to Uganda for short stays must obtain the correct entry visa based on the purpose of travel. The Uganda Tourist Visa applies to individuals visiting for holidays, leisure, family visits, or other non-business-related purposes. The Uganda Business Visa applies to individuals travelling for meetings, conferences, or other business-related activities.

All visa applications are submitted through Uganda’s official e-Visa system, managed by the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control. Applicants must obtain approval before travelling, and the approval is presented upon arrival for entry into Uganda.

These visas are strictly for entry purposes and do not allow employment or project-based work. Foreign nationals intending to work in Uganda must apply for a Special Pass or a Work Permit (Entry Permit), depending on the nature and duration of the activity.
