South Africa: Visa Backlog Continues

The South African Minister and Acting Director of Home Affairs have shared their updated statistics on the visa backlog. The current Permanent Residence backlog on record is 49 529, with some applications dating back to 2016. For Temporary Residence, the backlog has been revealed to be 75 000, with most applications in the Spousal category.

Over 56 000 applicants are waiting for their visa applications, with an estimated completion of all outstanding visa applications as far as the middle of 2024.
