Overview of the Business Visa in South Africa – Video

UPDATED 25/02/2025: The online application system for Business Visa applications  will be live from the 10th of March. No emailed applications will be accepted from the 1st of April.

In this video, we give an overview of the Business Visa in South Africa.

Basic requirements:

  1. Your employed workforce must consist of at least 60% locals – people with Permanent Residency or Citizenship
  2. You must invest R 5 million into this business. These funds must be transferred by the applicant.
This can be reduced to as low as R 100 000 where your investment or business meets certain other criteria that benefit South Africa. The next step is of most importance. This is the letter of recommendation from the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) that will look at your admission and make a recommendation from this.

Lastly, you can make your application.

This Business Visa is issued for three years, allowing further extension or application for Permanent Residence when applications open in early 2022.
