Forms and documents required for you to become a citizen of Ireland through naturalisation include the following:
- Proof of Payment for application fees
- A colour copy of your current passport
- A certified copy of your original civil birth certificate
- Two colour passport photographs
- A copy of your current Immigration Registration Card
- Proof you’ve reached 150 points each year you’ve been in Ireland
- Evidence of marriage or civil partnership
- Copy of your completed online residency checker
- Date Tax clearance certificate
How long can you stay in Ireland?
After your application is approved, you are officially an Irish citizen and can emigrate to Ireland permanently.
You can also apply for an Irish passport.
The following forms and documents are required to become an Irish citizen through the Foreign Birth Register:
- Original civil birth certificate showing parents’ details
- Marriage certificate or change of name document (if applicable)
- Certified copy of your current state-issued identification (passport, driver’s licence, or national identity card)
- Two forms of proof of address (original). If you are applying on behalf of a child, you must also include a letter from the child’s school or doctor.
- You must include proof of guardianship if you are applying on behalf of a child but aren’t the child’s parent.
- Four photographs
You must also provide documents relating to the person you’re basing your application on, i.e., your grandparent or parent. These include the following:
- Original civil birth certificate
- Original marriage certificate or change of name document (if applicable)
- Certified copy of current state-issued identification (passport, driver’s licence, or national identity card) or certified copy of their death certificate if deceased.
