Application for Ugandan Visas, Work Permits, and Residence
Uganda regulates the entry, stay and employment of foreign nationals through a structured immigration system administered by the National Citizenship and Immigration Control (NCIC), a public service institution under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The legal framework is primarily governed by the Uganda Citizenship and Immigration Control Act and its supporting regulations.
The immigration system distinguishes between entry visas, short-term work authorisation and longer-term work permits. Foreign nationals must apply for the appropriate category based on their intended activities in Uganda, as an entry visa alone does not provide work authorisation.
Uganda operates an electronic visa and permit system through which applications for visas, passes and work permits can be submitted online.
